Smart Card Alliance Board Members and Executive Leadership Announced for 2013

11th Annual Smart Card Alliance Government Conference, Washington, DC, Nov. 29, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Smart Card Alliance today announced its new board and seven-member executive committee to lead education programs, market research, advocacy, industry relations and events for 2012-2013.  Elections were held during the 11th Annual Smart Card Alliance Government Conference this week at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.

"The Smart Card Alliance is busier than ever, working at an accelerated pace to provide education, coordination, and communications leadership in all markets to advance the smart card industry," said Randy Vanderhoof, executive director of the Smart Card Alliance.  "Our executive leadership is central to this work, guiding our membership and industry councils on strategy, collaboration, events, education, and outreach activities."

The Smart Card Alliance elected executive committee is made up of the following board members:

       -- Chair: Willy Dommen, Accenture

       -- Vice Chair: Garfield Smith, Oberthur Technologies

       -- Treasurer: Paul Legacki, Infineon Technologies

       -- Assistant Treasurer: Brian Russell, Giesecke & Devrient

       -- Secretary: Greg Garback, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority

       -- Assistant Secretary: Debbie Bartoo, Bank of America

       -- Technology Vice Chair: Neville Pattinson, Gemalto

"It is the diversity of this leadership team and our membership across government, enterprise, transportation, payments and healthcare industries that gives the Alliance the ability to address the challenges relevant to our membership and the industries our members serve.
