Oklahoma's Gubernatorial Appointment Process Goes Online

OKLAHOMA CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Governor Mary Fallin recently launched a new service that allows Oklahomans interested in serving the state to apply online for a gubernatorial appointment. The new online application can be accessed from Governor Fallin's official website, located at http://governor.ok.gov.

“My administration is looking for qualified and dedicated Oklahomans to serve on various agencies, boards and commissions,” Fallin said. “It was my desire to have a system that allowed Oklahomans to submit their applications easily online. This new application delivers just that; it allows applicants to navigate through the process with ease and provides my staff with a more efficient way to make appointments. I would encourage all those interested in serving, to visit the Web site and submit their application.”

The new online appointment application will assist the Office of the Governor in streamlining the process of managing appointments from initial application to finalization of the appointments.

Previously, the process to manage and maintain gubernatorial appointment applications was tedious and time consuming. Applications were received via email or mail and were then entered manually into a digital repository. Once a position became available, staff searched the repository for applicants who met the specified criteria for the position.

Within the new online application, an instructional guide walks each applicant through the entire gubernatorial appointment application process. After submitting the application, the applicant can then select the boards, commissions, or task forces they are interested in being considered. The new online application automatically inputs all applicant information into a database, which can quickly and easily be filtered and searched by the staff of the Office of the Governor.
