CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

RSNA Booth #3438, South Hall To ensure the lowest possible CT radiation dose without compromising image quality, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. launches PROTECT. PROTECT is a three-year, comprehensive CT radiation dose management program to help customers achieve ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) imaging with Toshiba's AquilionTM CT product line.

PROTECT combines Toshiba's technology solutions with its renowned education and support. Through in-person collaboration, Toshiba experts will review the system's hardware and software and consider implementation of additional dose reduction technologies. These technologies include AIDR 3D, VeloCT console and leveraging Toshiba's partnerships with Radimetrics and Phoenix Technology Corporation. Toshiba's education and training will allow healthcare facilities to maximize their technology throughout its lifetime.

“Toshiba's PROTECT program benefits both radiologists and patients,” said John Mycek, director, Imaging Services, Kaleida Health Care System. “The program provides us the technology, education and training to maintain diagnostic image quality while limiting the risk of dose to patients.”

“As the company offering a simplified dose reduction solution for all patients across all platforms and backing it with robust training and education, PROTECT is our commitment to making CT imaging safer for all patients,” said Satrajit Misra, senior director, CT Business Unit, Toshiba. “With customizable options, PROTECT is tailored to meet the specific needs of our customers.”

Toshiba unveiled the PROTECT Program at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, Nov. 25 – 30, 2012 (Booth #3438, South Hall).
