Virginia Cancer Specialists Expands Patient Services and Enhances Comprehensive Care by Offering Radiation Oncology to Cancer Patients

Virginia Cancer Specialists (VCS), one of Virginia's well established cancer care centers with nearly 40 years of service to patients battling cancer and blood diseases, announced today that it is acquiring the Cancer Center of Fairfax radiation site located at 10301 Democracy Lane in Fairfax City, Va. Virginia Cancer Specialists is united in healing with The US Oncology Network, a network of approximately 1,000 physicians and 10,000 clinicians and cancer specialists dedicated to advancing the quality and science of cancer care. Starting December 15, patients treated at VCS will gain access to radiation oncology services. This added service fits with the mission of VCS to provide comprehensive cancer care to patients.

Virginia Cancer Specialists is a comprehensive practice that unites medical oncologists, hematologists, oncology nurse navigators, oncology infusion nurses, genetic counselors and oncology pharmacists, so patients can receive the high-quality care they deserve. VCS also has a clinical research department and a world-class laboratory. Including radiation oncology services adds to the breadth of care, giving patients an even more comprehensive cancer care team who works together to provide each patient with the advanced, personalized care they need to battle cancer.
