Craig-Hallum Announces Strategic Hirings
Craig-Hallum Capital Group LLC, a research, trading and investment banking firm, today announced strategic hires, highlighting continued optimism that the demand for high quality investment ideas and the need for differentiated investment banking and capital markets services remains robust.
Despite market volatility and pressures facing our industry, we continue to invest in our business because we see an increased need for good ideas for our 600+ institutional and corporate clients. Along those lines we have continued to strategically add quality professionals to our ranks and plan to continue to add superior talent that fits our client focused, entrepreneurial model.
We are pleased to announce the following recent additions to the Craig-Hallum team:
Bill Bonello - Bill Bonello is a Senior Research Analyst in the Equity Research Department at Craig-Hallum, where he covers healthcare stocks. Bill has more than a decade of experience as a senior sell side analyst at Piper Jaffray, Wachovia, and RBC Capital Markets, covering diagnostic products, research tools, and healthcare providers. Bill also served as the Senior Vice President of Investor Relations and a member of the Executive Committee at LabCorp. Bill earned a BA from Carleton College and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Eric Stine - Eric Stine joined the Equity Research department at Craig-Hallum as a Senior Analyst covering the Clean Technology and Industrials sectors. Previously Eric was a Senior Analyst at Northland Capital Markets. During his early days in the business, he was Senior Equity Trader at Miller Johnson Steichen Kinnard and RJ Steichen. Eric received his BS in Finance from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio).
Bryan Maher - Bryan Maher joined Craig-Hallum as a Senior Research Analyst in the Equity Research Department at Craig-Hallum, where he covers the Gaming, Lodging and Leisure sectors. Bryan is a highly regarded analyst with over a decade of experience as a senior analyst in these sectors, most notably at Citadel Securities, Credit Lyonnais and Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown. Bryan has a BS in Finance from Clemson University and an MBA from Georgia State University.
Rajesh Ghai - Rajesh Ghai joined Craig-Hallum as a Senior Research Analyst, where he covers the Enterprise IT and Data Center Infrastructure sectors. Previously, he was a Managing Director at ThinkEquity, a boutique investment bank headquartered in San Francisco. Rajesh has been recognized twice – in 2010 and 2011 – by Forbes.com/Starmine as the best stock picker in the Computers and Peripherals sector and by the Wall Street Journal Best on the Street in 2011 for his stock picking accuracy. Rajesh received a BS degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
Jon Ledwick – Jon Ledwick joined Craig-Hallum as an Institutional Sales Trader. Most recently, John spent 5 years as a Managing Director of sales trading for ThinkEquity in Boston. Jon also spent 10 years at Adams Harkness Hill in a similar role after attending Sonoma State University (CA).
Steven Beck - Steve joined Craig-Hallum as Co-Head of its Mergers and Acquisitions group. He has over 18 years of transaction experience across a wide variety of industries, including industrial products, energy, electronics, building products, healthcare, financial services, consumer products and food. Steve has completed over 60 transactions with an aggregate value of over $5 billion. Steve joined Goldsmith, Agio, Helms (now Lazard Middle Market) in 1998 and was most recently co-head of their Industrial practice. Prior to joining Goldsmith, Agio, Helms, Steve was a partner with Belmont Associates, Inc., a boutique investment and merchant banking operation in Minneapolis.
James Frommelt - Jamie joined Craig-Hallum as Co-Head of its Mergers and Acquisitions group. He has over 16 years of experience in leading mergers and acquisitions in the consumer products, business services, healthcare, and industrial products & manufacturing sectors. Jamie has completed over 50 transactions with an aggregate deal value in excess of $5 billion. Jamie joined Goldsmith, Agio, Helms (now Lazard Middle Market) in 1999 and was most recently the head of their Consumer practice. Prior to his investment banking career, Jamie practiced law with the law firms of Dorsey & Whitney LLP in Minneapolis and Reinhart, Boerner, Van Deuren, Norris & Rieselbach, S.C. in Milwaukee.
Albert Hanser - Albert Hanser joined Craig-Hallum with 15 years of experience in equity capital markets. Prior to joining Craig-Hallum, Albert was a Managing Director in Institutional Sales at ThinkEquity for nine years, running their Boston office. Previously, he worked for Deutsche Bank in London and NYC and Piper Jaffray in Minneapolis. He has a BA from Brown University.
John Lipman - John Lipman joined Craig-Hallum with significant investment banking experience in capital markets and M&A transactions. Prior to joining Craig-Hallum, John was a Managing Director at Rodman & Renshaw and Hudson Securities (acquired by Rodman & Renshaw) where he focused on capital markets transactions for emerging growth companies in a variety of sectors. Previously, he was the Chairman and CEO of Carter Securities where he was focused on raising institutional capital for emerging growth companies. John received a BA from Rollins College.
John Grimley - John Grimley joined Craig-Hallum in Institutional Equity Sales. He brings a deep knowledge of the markets, with over a decade of experience in institutional sales, most recently at Janney Montgomery covering Mid-Atlantic and NY based accounts. John also spent four years each at Citi and Deutsche Bank Alex Brown. John is a graduate of Brown University.
Bill Benjamin - Bill Benjamin joined Craig-Hallum in Institutional Sales. He most recently was with Janney Montgomery in Philadelphia where he worked with John Grimley for two years covering the Mid Atlantic in the institutional sales department. Prior to Janney, Bill worked at a geographical analytics start-up. Bill earned a BA from Northeastern University.
John Thompson - John Thompson joined Craig-Hallum in Institutional Equity Sales. John has over 20 years experience in institutional equity sales. He was with Needham & Company where he spent 17 years in institutional equity sales in the Boston office, and prior to that he held a similar role at Merrill Lynch. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, John spent nine years as an officer, serving primarily in submarines. He received an MS in Finance from MIT Sloan School of Management and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
