The recent statement from the American Society of Reproductive Medicine that egg freezing is no longer experimental is a welcomed change as the Fertility Centers of New England has for years played a leadership role in egg freezing providing the region's most advance and affordable fertility treatment.

Danvers, MA (PRWEB) October 31, 2012

The Fertility Centers of New England previously announced the first successful births in the United States following embryo culture using the Embryoscope® (Unisense/Fertilitech, Aarhus, Denmark) for both autologous IVF patients and donor IVF patients.

“We are proud to be at the forefront of using this new technology and being the first IVF center in the United States to report live births using the latest and most innovative laboratory technology,” said Fertility Centers of New England President and CEO, Joseph A. Hill, MD. “We continue to invest resources in our embryo culture systems and provide patients in New England, the U.S., and the World with the best technology available to improve pregnancy success rates.”

Recently, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) released a new position statement on the clinical benefits of egg freezing for fertility preservation. This recent change establishes egg freezing as a viable clinical option for both cancer patients and women seeking to electively preserve their fertility.

“The Fertility Centers of New England has been leading the way in and using the most advanced vitrification technology to provide our patients with the highest success long before ASRM's recent acceptance of egg freezing as mainstream in a clinical setting," said FCNE Chief Operating Officer Dr. Brian Miller. “Although ASRM now endorses egg freezing, it is still not a covered treatment option for the majority of patients requesting this service; that is why we offer the most cost competitive option for egg freezing in the country at $5,000 for an all inclusive oocyte vitrification cycle."

"FCNE's egg freezing program compliments the organization's other patient programs, such as IVF Assist and Egg Assist, and continues the tradition of affordable care options for patients without insurance coverage," Miller said. "The Fertility Centers of New England has been and will continue to be at the forefront of advanced infertility treatment and increasing access to care by providing the most advanced and affordable treatments available."
