QnAMed.com, a new website for the medical community allows students and professionals to ask healthcare related questions to other colleagues.
New York, NY (PRWEB) October 31, 2012
Innovent Health LLC announced the launch of their online platform QnAMed.com. The new question and answer website is free web application that allows students and health professionals to learn collaboratively. After registering, users are able to post questions related to basic sciences, clinical medicine, careers, and other related topics. The questions are then available for answer by any user on the site.
QnAMed.com was founded by Innovent Health as a complement to many of the medical forums that are out there now. While forums provide a medium for discussion, QnAMed.com is for exclusively questions and answers. Unlike many of the existing platforms, the new website offers users the ability to rate answers and also choose the best answers for each question. Innovent Health hopes that the community driven model will eventually lead to a collection of medical data that individuals can quickly reference.
Healthcare is an industry that is constantly changing with new guidelines, discoveries, and recommendations. QnAMed.com intends to be a centralized database that allows students, physicians, and other professionals to find the answers they need through collaboration. At this time the site is open to free registration by all individuals in healthcare interested in expanding their medical knowledge. Since there is no international standard for verifying the qualifications of the medical staff, QnAMed.com will be relying on the users and moderators to maintain the quality of the data. The site's user agreement states that all information is for educational purposes and should not be relied upon for diagnosing or treating a medical condition.
Some of the topics that are encouraged on the new site include USMLE board questions, pathophysiology of diseases, pharmacology, applying to medical school, nursing recommendations, etc. Users are also encouraged to discuss questions relating to new medical medical technology and research.
Some of the features of the site include:
- Categories & tags for questions that allow users to find answers quickly
- Related questions feature that allows users to find other questions that are relevant to their topic
- Sharing questions on social media to solicit answers
- Point system for building up reputation. Users earn points by contributing to the site
- Badges for different accomplishments also contributes to the user's reputation
- Moderators who update/remove questions as necessary
QnAMed.com is a unique solution that tremendous potential for healthcare collaboration within the global community. Innovent Health envisions it becoming a major reference tool for all medicine related questions.
