Certification Europe's ISO 50001 Energy Management Training courses are the first energy training courses to be CPD approved by Engineers Ireland. The ISO 5001 training courses are designed around the ISO 50001 standard. It offers an in-depth overview of the requirements of implementing an energy management system within an organisation. The newly CPD approved courses are ‘ISO 50001 Energy Management System Implementation Training' and ‘ISO 50001 Energy Management Lead Auditor Training,' both of which can be ran in-house or publically by Certification Europe.
Aidan Harney, CPD Director for Engineers Ireland believes that:
“Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is essential for professional engineers as it allows them to update their skills and knowledge in line with today's accelerating technological changes. Energy management is an ever-growing concern for many of our members employed in businesses with large energy usage. Engineers Ireland's approval of the two Certification Europe ISO 50001 energy courses recognises them as being relevant for engineering professionals, well-developed and delivered to high standards, with expert facilitators. The Engineers Ireland CPD Registered logo is an easy way to spot quality training providers of high relevance with clear learning outcomes.”
The energy management courses two trainers Dr. John Ryan and Dermot Gibbons are the first accredited ISO 50001 energy auditors in Western Europe. Both trainers have a vast amount of industry experience within the energy sector and offer focused, detailed training on how to implement an energy management system (EnMs) within your business.
Speaking about the course John Ryan, Director of Services at Certification Europe and ISO 50001 course trainer commented that:
“The awarding of CPD accreditation by Engineer's Ireland affirms the premier caliber of the ISO 50001 training courses. The course has been a massive success, as we have run sold out courses in Dublin four times per year. Additionally, we ran it internationally in South Africa and Canada last year, and we will be running a new the ISO 50001 training course in London in 2013. Next year we expect the demand for the course to grow exponentially as companies have developed greater awareness of the benefits of completing ISO 50001 training, and in becoming certified to the ISO 50001 energy standard. We are currently the leading accredited ISO 50001 certification body in Europe, in conjunction with the principal provider of ISO 50001 energy training in Ireland and Europe, a status which we take great pride in holding. ”
The major benefits of completing ISO 50001 energy training to an organisation is that it allows one to understand the requirements necessary to implement maintain and improve an Energy Management System (EnMS). Additional it will aid one in developing a framework for identifying energy and cost saving opportunities and in initiating a systematic approach to achieving continual internal energy performance improvement for one's business.
Certification Europe launched its energy management training courses in 2008, initially based around the Irish Energy Standard IS 393, then the European Energy Standard En 16001 and finally the ISO 50001, which was launched in June 2011. Over 400 people have completed the energy management system implementation and auditing courses to date. The course have been attended by a vast array of well-known companies such as Abbott Pharmaceutical, Aviva, Bord Gáis Energy, Boston Scientific, Clearstream, Diageo, DCU, Dublin Aerospace, Energie, Irish Cement, the International Criminal Court , Intel, Roadbridge, Trinity College Dublin, Vodafone and Wessex Water. The variety of sectors which the above companies are based in indicates that the ISO 50001 energy management standard and the energy training courses are applicable to organisations both large and small throughout Ireland and globally.
