Jim Stiverson, a boating enthusiast with 23 years of experience working in the marine industry, has come aboard Sterling Associates as Midwest and Central U.S. Marine Finance Sales Representative.

“This is a big move for me and one that I have not taken lightly,” Stiverson said. “I am excited and honored to join the oldest and most respected company in the marine finance industry. Their reputation with the banks, dealers and brokers from around the country is impeccable.”

An avid scuba diver and water-skier, Stiverson spent time as a professional show-skier in the 1980s at Sea World in Orlando, Fla. He is a collector of antique race boats, including a vintage 1976 Hydrostream Ventura II.

From his home on Lake Fenton, he enjoys ice skating, snowmobiling and ice sculpting. He is known for the ice bar he sculpts in the front of his house for an annual winter party.

Married with two boys, Stiverson coaches baseball, football and waterskiing.

“My business philosophy is simply to treat others as I would want to be treated,” he said. “My business goal is to provide the best possible finance experience for my customers.”
