Developing fine motor skills by using practical life activities is one of the best ways according to Moms blogging on Kids Activities Blog.
Young kids are constantly learning fine motor skills which is so important in learning how to write. One of the best and easy fine motor skills learning activities for toddlers and preschoolers is called Transferring of Dry Goods. This Montessori Method approved activitiy is part of the Practical Life curriculum.
This activity may seem work to an adult but it is actually fun for a preschooler. The challenge is to transfer Dry Goods such as beans, lentils, or seeds from one bowl to another. The aim of this game is teaching not only fine motor skills but also concentration, coordination, focus and self-regulation.
Another fun and educational Practical life activity is making a flower bouquet. By using simply a vase and some flowers (let the child help in cutting the flowers outside), the child is asked to make a beautiful bouquet by putting the flowers one-by-one into the vase. Fine motor skills, concentration, focus and creativity are all stimulated during this Montessori Method approved activity.
These and other fun educational activities have Moms blogging in numbers on Kids Activities Blog this fall.
