Ragan Conference Will Feature Clinton Presidential Speechwriter as Keynoter
Ragan's 2013 Speechwriters and Executive Communicators Conference will be anchored by the nationally-known scribes for President Bill Clinton and Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) October 30, 2012
Ragan Communications announced today that its 2013 Speechwriters and Executive Communicators Conference will be held at the Mayflower Renaissance Hotel in Washington, DC on March 20-22.
This year's conference marks almost three decades of annual speechwriting meetings under the banner of Ragan Communications. The conference is still the only training event in the country focused on professional speechwriters and executive communications.
Heading an all-star lineup of keynote speakers and session leaders will be Jeff Shesol, former deputy chief speechwriter to President Bill Clinton, and Jill Giacomoni, speechwriter for Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.
Shesol will talk about the persuasive power of presidential speeches (and, by implication, executive speeches) to cut through blather and move nations and institutions in desirable new directions.
Giacomoni will discuss “the challenge of writing a phenomenal speech,” and “the even greater challenge of influencing a leader to deliver it.”
A number of sessions will concentrate on the road bumps in the relations of executives and their speechwriters, and will offer ideas for ironing out these wrinkles in such areas as getting approvals, scheduling speechwriting discussion time with an executive, and talking an executive out of trying to shoe-horn too many ideas into his or her allotted speech time.
