Brit traveller wins big on her Australian working holiday with STA Travel and Visa Bureau
Along with partners STA Travel, Visa Bureau offered one lucky client a full refund on the cost of their Australian flights, making sure they have plenty of money to chase their dreams across the Outback and over the Great Barrier Reef.
London, UK (PRWEB UK) 30 October 2012
As the country's leading Australian visa consultancy, the Australian Visa Bureau has been helping thousands of young British and Irish people head Down Under for years.
With seemingly less and less opportunity on offer for young British people at the minute, more and more are choosing to take a working holiday in Australia. It's especially understandable that people would jump at the chance to escape to Australia for a year with its sun, sea and surfeit of opportunity, especially with the chance to win the costs of their flights back in a recent competition run by the Australian Visa Bureau and STA Travel.
After three months, Kara Lyons, currently of Laverton, Western Australia, was declared the lucky winner much to her surprise, especially as she didn't even know she'd entered!
“My mum booked my flight to Australia for me while I was in Canada,” said Kara. “STA Travel got me a great deal on a top airline with lots of baggage allowance. I was happy enough with that, she didn't even tell me I had been entered into a competition.”
“I just used Visa Bureau because I found them online, their process was so easy and efficient. The only issue I had which slowed down my Australian visa application was I needed to have chest scans; Visa Bureau found a clinic for me in London and I got everything sorted in less than two weeks.
While holidays to Australia are becoming an option for more and more people, flights to Australia are still likely to be the costliest part of most trips, so winning the cost of them back came as such a surprise to Kara, she didn't believe it.
“It was a complete surprise! I didn't believe it at first, I had to get my boyfriend to check. I made him check it because I thought it was a scam! Then I called my mum and asked her to check too.”
The Australian Visa Bureau set out to try and make one traveller's travels truly unique, and Kara is just getting started:
“It's all been amazing but I would have to say sky diving and scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef are in my top 10.
“I'm surprised myself so many times! I certainly never thought I would jump out of a plane of that I would be even the slightest bit capable of surfing!
“I really want to go whale watching off the west coast of Australia and I'm dying to go see the Ayers Rock. I also can't wait to spend Christmas and New Year in Sydney – it's such a great city!”
