Microsoft and Guide Dogs Showcase Technology Project at Sight Village London
Sight Village, a free exhibition of technology, products and services for blind and partially sighted people, takes place at Kensington Town Hall on November 6 & 7. Visitors include professionals and people with sight loss.

Microsoft and Guide Dogs have created a DVD which looks at how future technologies will assist blind and partially sighted people to get out and about. They will be showcasing the DVD as part of the Sight Village event in London at Kensington Town Hall on 6th and 7th November.
Also, Georgie - The World's unique Smartphone App for blind people on show in Kensington.
Georgie will be amongst the new tech for blind people on show at the free exhibition of technology and services for blind people, returns to Kensington Town Hall on 6th and 7th November and will doubtless change many people's lives forever. Losing your sight should not mean the end of leading an active life, working and enjoying hobbies and pastimes. Sight Village showcases the organisations, technology and products that can make a real difference.
Visitors will include anyone with an interest in sight loss issues including professionals, employers, policy makers and most of all visually impaired people themselves.
Exhibitors from throught the UK and abroad will demonstrate how they can make a difference, from accessible computers, GPS navigation, mobile 'phone technology, print magnification and even an ultrasonic white cane.
Organiser Ray Piggott, a Director of Queen Alexandra College, said "Sight Village is a popular event for anyone who has an interest in visual impairment, whether at first hand, through a family member or within their job. We welcome hundreds of people each year who drop in to Kensington Town hall to discover the amazing products and support that is available to people with sight loss."
Doors open from 10am each day, nearest underground is High Street Kensington. Car parking is available at the venue in Hornton Street W8 7NX (entrance in Campden Hill Road)
