Medical Professionals Network to Form at Push to Walk
Push to Walk, a non-profit specialized exercise gym that empowers people with spinal cord injuries, paralysis, and other neurological conditions to realize their individual potential, is in the process of forming its own Medical Professionals Network.
Riverdale, NJ (PRWEB) October 30, 2012
In recent months Push to Walk has been preparing to assemble a Medical Professionals Network for the non-profit organization. The purpose of the network will be to build relationships with the medical community, increase Push to Walk's credibility, develop referral sources for new clients and work together for the benefit of people with neurological conditions. The network would also assist in research efforts and designing newer and more innovative exercise programs.
Although this concept is new to the non-profit, Push to Walk has already received a positive response. The organization has begun enlisting medical professionals including Dr. Wise Young, Dr. Gregory Mulford, Dr. Stephen Kanter, Mary Boulos (DPT) and a few others. All members of the network will be able to provide a unique outlook on the future of Push to Walk and have offered their assistance in the formation of the group.
For the past five years, Push to Walk has helped over 100 individuals and is asking medical professionals to offer insight and knowledge that the non-profit does not have access to within its current staff. In a time where clinical trials are right around the corner in the United States, more of the medical world is beginning to recognize and realize a need for specialized gyms like Push to Walk. Staying healthy and strong will be a key component for anyone looking to participate in and benefit from clinical trials that may be available in the future.
“In order for us to expand, we need to branch out and make a name for ourselves within the medical community. Fortunately for us, we have a list of committed and prospective members who will assist and provide valuable insight and recommendations,” said Cynthia Templeton, President of Push to Walk. “We look forward to watching Push to Walk reach its full potential and this network is the first of many steps towards growth.”
Push to Walk is able to cover only about 75% of its operating costs through client fees, and relies on fundraising events to help make up the difference. “Our annual charity golf outing is our largest and most valuable event, raising us the funds to help cover operating costs, purchase new equipment, and create scholarship opportunities for clients in need,” explains Cynthia.
