On October 29, 2012, debt collection company Rapid Recovery Solution commented on a recent article by Jason MacNeil on Spinner regarding the recent lawsuit filed by Prince on a collection agency for taking $116,000 from the rock star.
According to the Spinner article, “Prince has filed a lawsuit against a debut collections agency after claims the agency removed $116,000 from the rock star's bank account illegally.” The article states that Prince says a collection agency collected the money due to a lawsuit over a music contract that Prince had lost.
The article informs that, “Lawyers for Prince filed the lawsuit last Thursday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, arguing the judge dropped the original judgement back in October 2011. If Prince is correct, then the agency would have removed the money on a non-existent debt. According to the article, “Prince is also seeking the total amount taken plus interest.” There i no word yet on when a final decision will be made.
John Monderine, CEO of debt collection company, Rapid Recovery Solution, commented on the article and how uncommon things like this are in the world of celebrities. “I think you would really be surprised how often celebrities don't pay their debts,” said Monderine.
