1. Cerner Corp. - The company made $98.9 million, or 56 cents per share, for the quarter that ended Sept. 29. That was up from $78.8 million, or 45 cents per share, during the same period last year.

2. Varian Medical Systems - Varian reported net income of $120.2 million, or $1.08 per share, up from $101 million, or 87 cents per share, in the prior year period.

3. Perkinelmer - The Company said Thursday its earnings fell 19 percent in the quarter to $29.6 million, or 26 cents per share, in the three months that ended Sept. 30. That compares to earnings of $36.6 million, or 32 cents per share, in last year's quarter.

4. Devry Inc. - The Company announced first quarter fiscal 2013 earnings of $0.49 per share, which beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.31 by 58%.
