Atlanta Dental Spa Participates in the Halloween Candy Buy Back with Operation Gratitude
Donate your Halloween candy and receive $1 dollar per pound; all donations go to soldiers deployed overseas.
Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) October 26, 2012
The Halloween Candy Buy Back Program has become a popular annual event, and Atlanta Dental Spa again offers their unqualified support. Dentists from all over the country support the event by paying trick-or-treaters one dollar per pound for excess Halloween candy. Operation Gratitude uses the exchanged candy to make care packages for troops stationed overseas. American Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines get great morale boosts by receiving packages from home.
Atlanta Dental Spa partner Dr. Susan Estep comments on the program, "Last year we bought back hundreds of pounds of candy, and we expect to double that this year. Atlanta Dental Spa removes dozens of pounds of sugar from our kids' mouths; the candy gets divided into small care packages for our soldiers; we give the kids an opportunity to earn money; and we introduce xylitol candy to the kids. Xylitol is an all natural, low-calorie, diabetic-friendly, healthy sugar substitute that can reverse dental cavities! Of course we invest in this program as it is an opportunity for Atlanta Dental Spa to promote wellness, financial savings, and patriotism with each candy transaction. Think about it --- wellness, fiscal responsibility, and patriotism --- if every dental practice in the country participated, we could solve some of America's problems without needing a presidential debate!"
Supporters can trade their candy for cash and/or donate factory-sealed oral-hygiene materials for inclusion in care packages. Acceptable materials include toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, and dental floss. Donations are accepted from October 31 through November 7 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday at both Atlanta Dental Spa locations:
Atlanta Dental Spa 3189 Maple Dr NE Atlanta GA 30305, 404-816-2230
Atlanta Dental Spa 1875 Old Alabama Road, Suite 130 Roswell GA 30076, 770-998-3838
Operation gratitude hopes to send 60,000 care packages to troops this year. Last year, the organization shipped 125 tons of goodies to appreciative troops overseas.
