Company Unlocking Movie Vault for Spine-Tingling Entertainment
Lehigh Valley, PA (PRWEB) October 26, 2012
Grab some popcorn and turn off the lights, if you dare. Digital Cable TV company RCN of Pennsylvania will broadcast its first-ever “Halloween Horror Marathon” on RCN TV (Lehigh Valley: channel 4/1004 HD; Delaware County: channel 8/608 HD)
From 7 p.m. on October 30th through 9 a.m. November 1st, viewers can experience 38 consecutive hours of hair-raising horror and sci-fi classics. Selections consist of favorite movies from the RCN TV Movie Vault and Midnite Mausoleum, along with episodes of cult classic “One Step Beyond”.
“This is an exciting block of programming we're pleased to share with our valued customers, showcasing our Halloween spirit,” said Sanford Ames, Jr., VP and General Manager, RCN Pennsylvania. “It's an entertaining way for friends and family to spend time with one another.”
Those who subscribe to RCN Lehigh Valley's Digital Cable TV packages will get goose bumps when they tune in to view these and more from the RCN TV Movie Vault:
- Night of the Living Dead
- The Phantom of the Opera
- The House on Haunted Hill
- Carnival of Souls
The spine-tingling selections from Midnite Mausoleum include:
- The Last Man on Earth
- The Wasp Woman
- The Terror
- Attack from Space
Movies will be broadcast in Standard Definition on Channel 4 and crisp HD on Channel 1004 in Lehigh Valley. Delaware Valley residents can tune in on Channel 8 for Standard Definition and HD on Channel 608.
Spooky films aren't the only Halloween-related programming RCN TV will air at the end of this month. The preferred High-Speed Internet service provider based in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania has also covered numerous Halloween parades in local communities, with programs now available On Demand, including:
- Catasauqua/North Catasauqua
- Northampton/Jack Frost
“We're vested within our community,” said Ames. “We're honored to be able to broadcast events that allow families within our service area to relive special moments. It's something we are especially proud of.”
The airing of this theme block and recent parades follows on the heels of the re-launch of rcntv.rcn.com, the website dedicated entirely to the popular local channel. Visitors now experience a more personal experience when they visit. The revamped site features richer, more robust content as well as regular blog posts from local sports commentators. Gary Laubach authors the blog, “Behind the Mike” and Chris Michael writes for “The SportsTalk Shop.” Readers are encouraged to post comments and remarks at the frequently-updated blogs.
This form of interaction mirrors the company's drive to allow their customers to become immersed in their entertainment. The interactive music video channel, SWRV, was recently added to the already extensive music channel line-up. With this innovative form of entertainment, viewers can influence the videos that next play and can even become their own VJ. Those watching are able to comment on the videos selected and rate the VJ's performance. SWRV is available to Premiere customers in Standard Definition on channels 585 and 1903.
