Fill in the blank: “When I grow up, I want to be __________”. This is the question children's book publisher I See Me! is asking fans and followers to answer this week in their new “ABC WHAT WILL YOU BE?” Photo Contest.
Fans and followers can head on over to the contest at the I See Me! Facebook page. Simply like the I See Me! Facebook page, upload a photo and enter a caption to have a chance at winning a $100 Visa Gift Card or one of ten free personalized “A-B-C What I Can Be?” books.
So, why is it so important to ask kids, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” According to parenting expert Susan Heim, kids need to use their imaginations more. Heim says, “One way in which we can do that is by asking kids, ‘What do you want to be when you grow up? Show me!'”
I See Me! has a brand-new book that can help kids and parents brainstorm on fun careers, beyond the usual occupations that kids will normally cite. The book is called A-B-C What I Can Be? I love the page for the letter “I”:
"Imagine the options that start with an I…
An Ice hockey player, an Inspector of pie,
An Inventor, Instructor, an Ice sculpture chipper,
An Ironman, Innkeeper, Ice cream cone dipper.”
The ABC WHAT WILL YOU BE? Contest ends November 2nd and I See Me! will announce winners shortly after. According to I See Me! co-founder and CEO Maia Haag, “We are so excited to see and hear about all of the different things that our little readers want to be when they grow up!”
