TRX Systems Wins 2012 Innovator of the Year Award from the Daily Record
Infrastructure-Free Indoor Location Technology Recognized as an Out-of-the Box Innovation that Positively Impacts the Community
Greenbelt, MD (PRWEB) October 25, 2012
TRX Systems, Inc., an award winning developer of unique indoor location products, announced today that it has been selected as a winner of The Daily Record's 2012 Innovator of the Year Award. This award recognizes TRX Systems' delivery of precise, infrastructure free, indoor location, allowing organizations to track and safeguard personnel inside buildings where GPS is not available and in outdoor urban centers where GPS is unreliable.
The Daily Record began the Innovator of the Year Awards in 2002 as a way to recognize Marylanders and Maryland-based companies for their innovative spirit — for creating new products, new programs, new services, or new processes that have helped their companies, industries, or communities. TRX Systems was recognized for its development of NEON, a unique indoor location system that uses advanced sensor fusion, time of flight ranging, and mapping algorithms to locate personnel operating in GPS-denied locations.
“We are honored to receive the 2012 Innovator of the Year Award from the Daily Record,” said Carol Politi, CEO, TRX Systems. “Indoor location is now recognized to be the last mile in location services. Defense and public safety applications are especially challenging since they require the ability to monitor personnel location without pre-installed or networked infrastructure. TRX developed our unique sensor fusion and map building technology to improve situational awareness and command effectiveness in GPS-denied areas.”
“We are proud to honor TRX Systems, Inc. as one of The Daily Record's Innovators of the Year,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher of The Daily Record. “TRX Systems embodies the creativity and innovative spirit that originally spurred The Daily Record to launch the Innovator of the Year Awards.”
