Best UniversitiesintheUS.com, provider of detailed information about America's best sources of higher education, will launch a local directory of schools and colleges this November.

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) October 25, 2012

For adults resuming their college educations or high school students looking for the perfect college experience, finding the right university is as important as choosing the right major. BestUniversitiesintheUS.com has offered free, detailed information about America's greatest post-secondary schools for several years, but now the site owners are taking things a step further: they're launching a local directory of schools.

While the site has always featured an unofficial specialty of universities with excellent psychology departments, the local directory will be more general, allowing students to search for their ideal college based either on the zip code where they currently live (for those seeking local options) or by choosing the state where they wish to attend school. Those universities with distance learning programs will also be included.

Embracing a limited form of crowd-sourcing, the BestUniversitiesintheUS.com directory will also allow site visitors to suggest schools for inclusion, as long as they provide the name, address, URL, and contact phone number for the institution in question. This will allow smaller, less prominent colleges to be part of the site, even if they haven't been highlighted outside the directory.

Why add a directory? Manager Joe Miller explains, "While excellent students are inundated with college brochures once they've taken their first entrance exams, older students, or those with lower scores have to do research. Our directory will allow them to find the perfect university for their budget, lifestyle, and location."
