Garden City, NY (PRWEB) October 24, 2012

The NAPW Wellington, FL Local Chapter was successfully launched on October 16th with a professional networking meeting at Gypsy Horse Restaurant. Chapter President Cheryl Martin, along with Chapter Vice President Susan Muench and Chapter Event Coordinator Amber Bautz, welcomed members and guests to the meeting. All were encouraged to network, learn more about the benefits of NAPW membership, and help set future goals for the Chapter such as its involvement with local charities.

“I welcome everyone to the official launch of the NAPW Wellington, FL Local Chapter!,” said the Chapter President, kicking off the networking meeting.

During the launch event, members and guests enjoyed appetizers and beverages at the Gypsy Horse Restaurant, an Irish pub located in the Old Wellington Mall where locals go to enjoy drinks, appetizers, televised sports, and games for the children.

Cheryl, Susan, and Amber got things started by briefly speaking about the Wellington, FL Local Chapter's meeting agenda and the goals for the group. Plenty of time was allowed for members and guests in attendance to introduce themselves and speak about their businesses.

The focus of the introduction portion of the meeting was for members and guests to let others know the types of referrals that would benefit their businesses. Each person was asked to provide a business card that will go into a binder that will be available at each meeting for people to browse through. Members' cards will remain in the binder for future meetings.

“The purpose of doing this was to get everyone thinking about how we can build a ‘members helping members' referral system!” said Chapter President Cheryl.

The Chapter President introduced new guests to NAPW. She discussed becoming a member and the many benefits membership provides a woman in business. Also mentioned were upcoming charity events that the group will participate in. Cheryl gave an example of a business introduction by speaking briefly about her company, Gardens Wellness Center, and what her clinic offers in health and healing.

The Vice President took a few moments to introduce herself and her business to the group. Susan is a local Realtor at USA Best Realty serving the Palm Beach County area. Susan's business focuses primarily on helping buyers find the perfect home. In addition to her real estate practice, Susan also devotes her time to her small business, Claw Clip Couture. Susan discussed the variety of different products she is able to create for women of all ages.

One of the goals of the Wellington, FL Local Chapter is to become involved in a variety of charities that benefit the surrounding areas. Cheryl announced that one charity the Chapter has elected to support is St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. At each Chapter meeting, members and guests will donate $1 for the ‘adoption care' of a child from St. Jude.

“Each month, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will send a photo of a child that we are assisting and provide a brief story about the child,” explained Cheryl. “The information will be displayed at each meeting so members and guests may see the benefits of their donations.”
In addition to the efforts in support of the St. Jude foundation, the Wellington, FL Chapter will be involved with the building of a home for Habitat for Humanity.

“We will be assisting contractors on site in the nearby city of Lake Worth,” said the Chapter President. “The date for the event is November 24th. I hope to see you all there!”

All members and guests who are interested in participating in the Habitat for Humanity event must preregister. For more details about the event, contact the Chapter President.

“We are excited to announce that Julie Pickens and Judie Gibson have graciously arranged for our Chapter meetings to be held and sponsored by the International Polo Club!” said Cheryl.

“These amazing ladies are currently determining the availability of the facility for our next meeting.”

The Chapter President also announced that each NAPW Wellington, FL Local Chapter meeting will highlight one or two key speakers who will discuss a topic of interest to the group. She encouraged everyone to stay tuned to the Chapter's Facebook page for next month's guest speakers.

Cheryl also addressed the many members and guests who have indicated their desire to participate in the organization and development of the Wellington, FL Local Chapter. She announced that there will be a discussion at the next meeting about where help is needed and the process for tracking volunteer efforts.

“Thank you to those who have offered their assistance!” said Cheryl. “If others are interested in helping, please reach out to me.”

Before closing the meeting, the Chapter President reminded members and guests that Chapter meetings are posted on the NAPW Wellington, FL Local Chapter Page on napw.com. The Chapter is waiting to hear about an available date for the next meeting from the International Polo Club.
