California Home+Design Announces Format Changes for 2013

Following Significant Advances in 2012, the Multimedia Brand Will Launch a New Quarterly Print Format and an Enhanced Digital Platform

California Home+Design announced plans for its 2013 media platform, which will include a more robust, book-inspired quarterly print format, an increased focus on digital content, contests and campaigns, and an expanded schedule of branded events. The strategic move follows a year of major advances for California Home+Design: a dramatically redesigned print publication under the editorial and creative direction of new executive editor, Erin Feher; a two-fold increase in circulation with aggressive expansion into Southern California; the unveiling of a new and improved digital platform; and a foray into exclusive event production and promotion in both Northern and Southern California.

In 2012, California Home+Design has seen high levels of growth from both advertisers and consumers, despite conflicting trends in the market. Newsstand sales were up 64 percent year-over-year, and 23 percent issue-over-issue. Californiahomedesign.com experienced significant growth, with a 99 percent increase in unique visitors, year-over-year, and a 257 percent increase in page views over 2011. These substantial growth patterns for the digital platform have guided the decision to invest more heavily in digital production, including social media strategies, customized packages for advertisers and expanded and increased content. The changes will allow California Home+Design to meet the growing needs of both consumers and advertisers by effectively connecting with audiences daily online, weekly through newsletters, quarterly with an enriched print format and strategically through direct engagement and a host of events.
