MedNet America, Inc., an anesthesia and pain management billing company based in Atlanta, has employed a medical director, Brian Waltmann, MD, MBA. He will be a huge asset as the company assists pain management practices and anesthesia practices develop workable practice models.

MedNet America, Inc. announced today that it has employed Brian Waltmann as Medical Director and Practice Manager. Dr. Waltmann received his B.S from the University of South Carolina and his M.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina. He also received an MBA from Kennesaw State University in 2003.

Waltmann's background in both medicine and medical administration is impressive. He completed two years of a trauma surgery residency 1979-1981 before switching to the emergency medicine residency 1981-1983. In 1990, he completed a residency program in anesthesia and pain management.

He has practiced emergency medicine for 10 years and anesthesiology and pain management for several years in the 1990s. He has served as Medical Director of several emergency departments and urgent care centers and also has served as Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of South Carolina.

In the 90s, he began to consult on the business side of anesthesiology and pain management. From 1999 to 2011, Dr. Waltmann performed anesthesiology and pain management administrative duties full-time for North Fulton Anesthesia Associates, ultimately being promoted to Chief Operating Officer. He was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society which recognizes the top 20 percent of graduate program business students worldwide.
