The Timken Company Selects SuccessFactors to Transform HCM Processes
SAP and SuccessFactors Deliver End-to-End, Global Cloud Solution for Talent and Core HR
SAN MATEO, Calif., Oct. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SuccessFactors, an SAP company and leader in cloud-based business execution software, today announced that The Timken Company will implement the SuccessFactors Business Execution Suite (BizX), including Employee Central, to integrate its people-related processes and systems across its global operations. Timken is an industrial technology leader that designs, manufactures and markets mechanical components and high-performance steel to diversified markets around the world. While looking to move to the cloud in a non-disruptive manner, the company selected the cloud solution based on rapid time-to-value and a seamless and effective combination of SAP and SuccessFactors. Moving from a legacy HR system, SAP and SuccessFactors give Timken the ability to focus on the most impactful transformation first — talent management. As a second phase, Timken plans to move core HR to the cloud, supporting a global workforce of 21,000 operating from 30 countries.
An SAP customer for 14 years, the selection of SuccessFactors extends the current Timken enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform with broad, unprecedented human capital management (HCM) capabilities. The new system includes a cloud-based platform that combines mobile and social capabilities while driving efficiency through an intuitive user interface (UI). SuccessFactors BizX Suite powered by the SAP HANA® database shortens task completion from weeks to minutes. Additionally, SuccessFactors' "glocal" approach is well-suited for the company's global workforce, which requires a comprehensive system of records fine-tuned to meet local needs. The full suite is expected to be deployed to the entire workforce by first quarter of 2014.
