Market Overview Florida to Heat Up with the Annual Outback Bowl

Come January 1, 2013, in Raymond James Stadium at 1:00 p.m. some of the best football teams from college in the state are going to compete head to head, aiming for the championship title. The gate is formally opened as early as 11:30 a.m.

Organized by Jim McVay and the Tampa Bay Bowl Association, and supported by Outback Steakhouse, the game is expected to attract more than 65,000 people, both from Florida and from other states.

Various activities have also been lined up on the same date. Audiences can drop by the Tent Village where Mercedes Benz has set up various games and forms of entertainment prior to the actual show. For those who wont get invited to the event, they can continue staying outside the stadium and join any of the pep rallies. They can also listen to live fun music from artists brought by Coca-Cola Zero, WDAE Radio, and Bright House Network, among others. There are also several booths of exhibits, as well as plenty of refreshments.

Theres also a pre-game show where various bands from college and high school are expected to perform. The audience are also treated to flying spectacles from skydivers. These activities are scheduled to start a few minutes before the actual Outback Bowl 2013 tournaments. Upon half time, over 4,000 performers composed of bands will converge for a one breathtaking act. There will also be a tribute for the military members present during the event.

A day before the end of the year, the committee will hold the Debartolo Youth Football Clinic, which is good for half a day, between noon and 3:00 p.m. Children who are from 7 to 14 years old are encouraged to train on basic football skills. Music lovers can wait for the battle of the bands to be held in Busch Gardens. Before the clock strikes 12, the Tampa waterfront comes alive with the annual ball drop and fireworks show known as Light Up Tampa Bay.

Last October 3, the 2013 Outback Bowl is officially opened with a kickoff headed by Chris Spielman, a member of the NFL Pro Bowl and currently an analyst of college football for ESPN. The event in A La Carte Pavilion was participated by around 800 people, composed of the board of directors, Outback Bowl officers, and a number of men and women form the media.

Though Outback Bowl isnt the first bowl game in Tampa, Florida, its the first major one, comparable to Rose and Sugar Bowl. The tournament used to be held in Tampa Stadium before it was moved to Raymond James Stadium. The stadium has 10,000 parking spaces, electronic video scoreboards, escalators, great seating with cup holders, restaurants, and sports bars.
