Market Overview News: Disney on Ice Comes A-skating in New York

(EMAILWIRE.COM, October 30, 2012 ) Uniondale, NYThe Disney characters that youve grown to love for more than 50 years will arrive in Uniondale, New York, to perform for a series of nights. Disney brings to town its newest show called Rocking Ever After starting on November 9, 2012, at Nassau Coliseum. Different time schedules are available, including 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

The new show, which officially opened in Florida, brings a whole new story. The traditional characters of Minnie and Mickey Mouse travel all around the globe, searching for the best talents that are worthy to be part of the world of Disney. This then provides audiences a glimpse of Belle of Beauty and the Beast and Ariel of the Little Mermaid.

However, to add something new into the story, making it more relevant to the audiences, Rocking Ever After introduces the famous characters, Rapunzel of Tangled and Merida, from Brave.

At the center of it all is Patty Vincent, who is selected director. She started out as part of the ensemble and, after almost 30 years in the business, very well knows about Disney shows. Besides directing, she also choreographs acts. She envisioned the performances as a hodgepodge of the old and new, with some songs dating as far as the 1980s and 1990s, like Vogue. Of course, the eternal Disney songs such as those of the Little Mermaid will never be missed. Vincent and the cast hope that the show will not only be fun and engaging but also be very nostalgic for all members of the family. We are recreating these moments that young children and adults have been viewing for their entire lives, she told the press.

With that, Vincent devotes a good amount of time watching and rewatching a lot of Disney movies and identifying scenes that are truly memorable. She also hopes that Disney on Ice: Rocking Ever After will also help the audience learn more about other cultures of the world, especially with the inclusion of Brave, which was set in Scotlands medieval period.

Disney on Ice is one of the most successful childrens shows in the world. One of its reasons for success is the fact that it brings all the well-loved Disney characters a lot closer to the audience, particularly the children, without the need to visit any of the Disneylands in the country.

The audience can also have a lot of fun meeting the characters in person and having their photos taking with them before or after the performances. They are also treated with amazing skating skills, including different types of runs and flips.

Other Disney on Ice presentations were Mickey and Minnies Magical Journey in 1995, 100 Years of Magic in 1999, Princess Wishes: Princesses and Heroes in 2006, Worlds of Fantasy in 2008, and Dare to Dream and Treasure Trove in 2011.
