Rajant Corporation to Exhibit its Kinetic Mesh Networking Solutions for Critical Offshore and Remote Infrastructure at 2012 OilComm Conference and Exposition
Rajant Corporation, the pioneer of Kinetic Mesh Networks, today announced that it will display its reliable, multi-frequency wireless networking solutions at the 2012 OilComm Conference and Exposition, to be held November 6-8, 2012 at the Houston Marriott Westchase, Houston, Texas (Booth #513).
In addition to showcasing its family of Kinetic Mesh Networking technology, Rajant will highlight the newest addition to its BreadCrumb family of ruggedized, multi-radio network nodes, the LX4-2954-EX – the first explosion- and flame-resistant BreadCrumb. The new BreadCrumb LX4-2954-EX is designed for use in any application where safety and availability are paramount, and where there exists a risk of fire or explosions – especially the oil & gas and utilities industries. Typical applications for the BreadCrumb LX4-2954-EX include onshore and offshore oil & gas drilling rigs and refineries.
The powerful flexibility of Rajant's Kinetic Mesh Networking technology can be applied to virtually any remote or offshore critical infrastructure where a broadband data and communications capability is needed. Oil & gas exploration, drilling, extraction and transportation require substantial equipment and manpower resources – all dispersed over vast, often remote, areas. A large percentage of this critical remote infrastructure is unmanned and unmonitored. Rajant's proven technology represents a critical link through which these vulnerable assets can be linked to provide critical voice, video and data connectivity for monitoring, control and host of other applications.
“Offshore communications – particularly reliable, multi-frequency broadband networking – presents numerous challenges because of the variety of fixed, moving, manned and unmanned assets,” said Rajant Co-Founder and CEO Robert Schena. “Rajant's proven Kinetic Mesh Networking technology offers a reliable solution for connecting the equipment, vehicles, vessels and people that drive these industries. Simply put, Rajant connects when and where other networks fail.”
In addition to exhibiting at OilComm, Rajant will participate in a lively “6-Minute Vendor Shoot-Out” session, Wednesday, November 7 from 3:45pm – 4:45pm in the Grand Ballroom A-D. This informative technology showcase will feature brief presentations from communications vendors serving the oil & gas market. Rajant Senior Vice President Gary Anderson will be on hand to share Rajant's unique capabilities to provide a unified communications platform.
The solutions being shown at OilComm 2012 are based on the proven Rajant BreadCrumb® wireless, portable mesh networking nodes and InstaMesh software, which enable continuous and instantaneous routing of wireless and wired connections. This dynamic frequency utilization allows for total network mobility – Kinetic Meshing – as well as robust fault tolerance, high throughput and low latency.
