Aetna Now Available Through CaliforniaChoice
CaliforniaChoice, a CHOICE Administrators program, announced today the addition of Aetna's Value Network to its health plan networks, effective January 1, 2013. CaliforniaChoice operates the nation's most successful small to mid-size group private health insurance exchange with more than 10,000 employer groups and 150,000 members in California.
“The addition of Aetna's outstanding Value Network means that we can offer employers even more choice for provider network, benefit design and cost savings,” said Ron Goldstein, president and CEO of CHOICE Administrators. “The entire concept of exchanges is built around choice, value and quality, which is why we are so pleased to be able to add Aetna as one of our carrier providers.”
Aetna joins CaliforniaChoice's “light network” that offers businesses and employees savings through a focused list of participating doctors, hospitals and medical professionals. The CaliforniaChoice “full network” options are available to employers as well. CaliforniaChoice offers Anthem Blue Cross, Health Net, Kaiser Permanente, Sharp Health Plan and Western Health Advantage, in addition to a variety of ancillary products including vision, dental, hearing, life and chiropractic coverage.
Since its inception in 1996, CaliforniaChoice has served as a model for a private health insurance exchange, offering its products to the small group (2-50 employees) and mid-market (51-199 employees) market. In doing so CaliforniaChoice has helped define the concept of “defined contribution,” which gives employers the cost controls they desire while empowering employees to select the health plan package that best meets their needs and budget. Through the years the company has continued to innovate, offering broad choice, robust search engine support, single-point administrative contact, and renowned customer service.
Aetna Value Network is a subset of Aetna's popular HMO product. Aetna is one of the nation's leading diversified healthcare benefits companies, serving more than 36 million people with information and resources to help them make better informed decisions about their healthcare. The company offers a broad range of traditional, voluntary and consumer-directed health insurance products and related services, including medical, pharmacy, dental, behavioral health, group life and disability plans, medical management capabilities, Medicaid healthcare management services, and health information technology services.
