ProlimeHost, a leading modern-day web hosting service provider, has recently added another data center in South Bend, Indiana, to their existing set of two data centers in Dallas and Phoenix. The addition of this new data center, a 40,000 sq. ft. dedicated space, is currently running only Linux machines. It is expected to increase their Linux client base by at least 50%. The company is also planning to add Windows dedicated server hosting to the data center once the Linux release stabilizes. This could take another week or two, as per the company's CTO.

Buoyed by the welcome that their recent series of datacenter hardware and software upgrades received from their customers, ProlimeHost has now added one more data center to its existing assets. The addition of this new data center brings up the total number of their data centers to three. The new data center is located in the city of South Bend in Indiana. The other two data centers are located in Dallas and Phoenix respectively. The new data center is equipped with fully state-of-the-art hardware, power, security and environment.

Appearing in a press meeting earlier today, a visibly excited Tom Beck was found to be extremely hopeful and passionate about the quality of the new data center. “At 40,000 sq. ft. of usable area, this data center stands out as a massive one. And the infrastructure will outperform most of the web hosting industry solutions. The hardware architecture is built and maintained as a managed infrastructure using redundant Cisco gigabit LAN. The external connection is maintained over a multicarrier network that uses the OC-X and Dark Fiber. This optical network infrastructure is the very best that modern technology can commercially provision for today.” Incidentally, Tom Beck is the current CTO of ProlimeHosting.

The company is learned to have only launched their Linux platform based services from this data center, equipped with full Cpanel integration like their other data centers. When asked about the next stage of the network, Beck was hopeful to roll out their Windows based services in the next stage once their dedicated Linux server based services stabilize. Beck was quoted as saying, “This could take another week or two”. In spite of speculations, he didn't pin down the exact timing or any clear estimate.

The data center in South Bend, Indiana is a modern one. Over and beyond what was gushed out by Beck, there are other salient attributes about this data center that makes it valuable. The physical structure of these data centers is robust. These are fully hardened concrete structures, coming with a ceiling height of 18-24 feet. The employee access control is immaculate, with employment being done only with adequate background checks followed by a thorough screening process. Selected employees are given a digital access card that logs every movement they make into or out of the data center and any of the colocations. This is boosted by a 24x7 motion sensing surveillance.

To add to the human security factor, another interesting aspect is the power backup. The entire data center is backed up by high-power diesel power generators. So the power in the data centers will remain uninterrupted. And the air conditioning inside the data center is also perfected by maintaining a controlled temperature of 70 degrees and a controlled humidity of 50% throughout all hours of the days and nights. Air handlers have been installed to monitor and clean the air quality day in and day out.

It is therefore of no surprise that the new dedicated server hosting center is making its owners proud. “This new data center will easily increase our Linux client base by 40%, and it may go as high as 50%. Our recent additions and improvements of our dedicated Linux server base over the past few months are leading to nearly-geometrical growth for our hosting division. Once we roll off the Windows servers within the new data center, we expect to see a growth that is even steeper than this”, said a spokesperson from http://www.ProlimeHost.com.
