Four short months ago, GraphicDesign.com launched an all-new version with aspirations of becoming a leading source of news and information devoted entirely to the graphic design community. Fittingly, on August 23rd, GraphicDesign.com celebrated its four-month anniversary by attracting its 1,000th Twitter follower, @Graphanixdziner. Follow GraphicDesign.com on Twitter: @AtGraphicDesign.

The site has taken mammoth strides in just one-third of a year and put itself on the graphic design map through its writers, partners, and Advisory Board members. The latter group includes a veritable "who's who" of the design world, including Sterling Brands Design Division President Debbie Millman, Glitschka Studios Principal Von Glitschka, and Vitamin T President Susie Hall.

The Advisory Board has been instrumental in bringing GraphicDesign.com to its current state and has offered guidance on areas like content, user experience, and major site undertakings. The Board represents a cross-section of the graphic design world and draws on a variety of backgrounds.

The site's contributing writers have produced plenty of intriguing, insightful, and memorable content over the last four months. The group includes names like "Starting Your Career as a Freelance Web Designer" author Neil Torterella, Kutztown University professor Denise Bosler, Swiss designer Mirko Humbert, Adobe expert Rafiq Elmansy, and Carbonmade Creative Director and Co-Founder Dave Gorum, whose recent feature article on creating a memorable design portfolio was quite a hit.

GraphicDesign.com has also been hard at work scheduling trips to major design events in order to share insights from them with readers. For example, in October, GraphicDesign.com Advisory Board member Nicole Spiegel-Gotsch will be attending the HOW Interactive Conference in Washington, D.C., while Matt Cannon will be camped out at the Future of Web Design NYC. Highlights of each can be found on GraphicDesign.com.

In November, Nick Musica, who authored "When Search Meets Web Usability," will be reporting from An Event Apart in San Francisco. GraphicDesign.com readers interested in joining Musica in the Bay Area can get $75 off the conference fee by using the code "AEAGDC". GraphicDesign.com will continue to offer special discounts for its readers, who have helped grow the site over the last four months.

GraphicDesign.com is constantly evolving. In fact, site officials recently announced the formation of a Student Council in conjunction with CreativeInterns.com. The Student Council will have a major voice in making GraphicDesign.com much friendlier to students.

Participation in the Council will help students financially and professionally, as they'll receive stipends along with portfolio links, a bio, writing opportunities, and more on GraphicDesign.com. The Student Council was announced last month and interested applicants should contact Julia Wild at julia at graphic design dot com.

GraphicDesign.com would like to thank its entire readership for a triumphant last four months. Check back to the site regularly to see what's new!
