Move to Boston's Innovation District Supports Expanding Worldwide Growth.

Boston, MA (PRWEB) August 22, 2012

VKernel, a division of Quest Software and the award-winning provider of enterprise-class performance and capacity management products for virtualized data centers and cloud environments, today announced the company has moved its worldwide headquarters from Andover, MA to Boston's Innovation District.

Quest Software's VKernel Division is the latest company to relocate to Boston's Innovation District. Between January 2010 and today, the Innovation District attracted over 150 companies and over 3,000 jobs to the South Boston Waterfront. The new firms represent a broad range of industries including green technology, digital media and marketing, and information technology/software development.

VKernel's acquisition by Quest Software in November 2011 - coupled with dramatic worldwide growth - accelerated requirements for additional space in the Boston market. The company is currently looking to grow its Boston workforce by over 50% during the coming quarters.

The Innovation District, announced by Mayor Menino in January 2010, is a new iteration of the City of Boston's efforts to develop the 1,000 acres of land along the South Boston Waterfront. This new development strategy has become the model for rebuilding an economy around new and growing industries. The District continues to build momentum, particularly among companies that are attracted to collaboration opportunities with other firms in that area. By locating to the Innovation District, VKernel gets access to the talent and infrastructure needed to fuel its rapid growth.

In addition to new space in Boston, VKernel has also been rapidly expanding worldwide with:

New Sales Offices – Cork, Ireland and Melbourne, Australia have opened as local call centers serving the APAC and EMEA regions.
New R&D Centers – VKernel has added R&D operations in Santa Clara and St. Louis to its existing development sites in Moscow, Russia.
Local Language Support – New versions of vOPS are now available in Japanese through VKernel's Japanese partner, Macnica Networks.
Global Support – Leveraging Quest Software's award-winning support operations, VKernel customers now have access to global support operations.

“Boston's Innovation District is perfect for rapidly growing companies like Quest Software's VKernel Division,” said Mayor Thomas Menino. “Its prime location, access to tech space, and central location for recruiting from all of Boston's major colleges makes it ideal for tech companies. We are excited to have VKernel join the ranks of over 150 other companies who have made the Innovation District their home.”

“Moving to Boston gains us access to an even larger base of both experienced and entry-level high technology personnel,” said Bryan Semple, CMO, VKernel. “Access to this talent will be critical to our growth as we deliver our solutions to a growing list of virtualized enterprises and cloud providers. Boston's Innovation District is the ideal location to help drive this growth.”
