Innovation, the Election, and the Economy to be Addressed at TD Ameritrade Institutional 2012 Fall Regional Conference
Independent registered investment advisors (RIAs) will hear from political powerhouses, innovative thought leaders and industry influencers at TD Ameritrade Institutional's 2012 Fall Regional Conference. Paul Begala, political analyst and commentator for CNN and Newsweek columnist, and Bill Kristol, founder and editor of the Weekly Standard and panelist for FOX News Sunday are featured keynote speakers. The political pundits will deliver a timely point/counterpoint discussion on the political landscape just days before the 2012 Presidential election.
Fred Tomczyk, president and chief executive officer, TD Ameritrade Holding Corporation, and Tom Nally, president, TD Ameritrade Institutional1, are set to provide an outlook on the state of the business and the RIA industry. Deputy chief economist for TD Bank Group, Beata Caranci, will deliver perspectives on U.S. and global economies. Luke Williams, professor of innovation and entrepreneurship at New York University Stern School of Business and author of Disrupt: Think the Unthinkable to Spark Transformation in Your Business, will offer a thought-provoking session on innovation and leadership.
“The challenging economic climate and ongoing gridlock in Washington weighs on the minds of advisors and investors as the presidential election approaches,” said Tom Nally. “Advisors in attendance can expect thoughtful conversations on the outlook for our industry and how to best serve their clients as we brace for continued uncertainty on multiple fronts, including the political, economic and regulatory environments.”
More than 250 RIAs are expected to gather for the one-day conference at the St. Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point, Calif. on Tuesday, October 23rd. Advisors will have the opportunity to participate in valuable social media workshops focused on building and strengthening their social media brand. Breakout sessions will cover topics on business growth, emerging demographics, technology integration and investment strategies. The afternoon session will feature a debate on the harmonization of the fiduciary standard and advisor oversight and include representatives from Investment Adviser Association, Consumer Federation of America, Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association and TD Ameritrade Institutional.
