Plano, TX (PRWEB) April 10, 2012

In recognition of National Occupational Therapy Month, HomeCEUConnection.com will host the live, interactive, continuing education seminar: Electronic Aids for Daily Living: The Young Child at Home & in the Classroom in cooperation with Michelle Lange, OTR, ABDA, ATP/SMS.

National Occupational Therapy Month was launched to bring recognition to a profession that helps individuals live life to its fullest. Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants help people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. Common Occupational Therapy interventions include helping children with disabilities to participate fully in school and social situations, helping people recovering from injury to regain skills, and providing supports for older adults experiencing physical and cognitive changes.

This continuing education webinar- Electronic Aids for Daily Living: The Young Child at Home & in the Classroom, is a 2 contact hour continuing education opportunity which will take place April 28th from 9am-11am central standard time.

During the live, online, seminar, Electronic Aids for Daily Living: The Young Child at Home & in the Classroom, rehabilitation professionals will learn how EADLs provide alternative control of devices within the environment. Basic EADLs are controlled by switch and operate simple battery operated and electrical devices. Basic EADLs can be used with young children to develop cognitive skills, provide independent play, socialization and participation and prepare kids for future, more sophisticated assistive technology use. Basic EADLs can be also be used in the classroom to reach the same goals, as well as to provide object manipulation and meet therapy goals.
