Immersion Haptics Launch in NTT DOCOMO's MEDIAS Tablet & Smartphone

Immersion Corporation IMMR, a leading developer and licensor of touch feedback technology, today announced that the recently released DOCOMO MEDIAS ES N-05D smartphone, manufactured by NEC CASIO Mobile Communications, Ltd., and DOCOMO Tablet MEDIAS TAB N-06D, manufactured by NEC, have launched with Immersion technology. The devices, which include Immersion's TouchSense® 3000 embedded control software and Integrator software, are the first to market as a result of new license agreement between Immersion and NEC and NEC CASIO Mobile Communications Ltd.

In addition to incorporating Immersion software, the devices also utilizes a linear resonant actuator (LRA) with a new driver which provides a self-tuning capability to ensure the LRA will deliver high quality haptic effects for the life of the device.
