CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

The Independent Oracle Users Group (IOUG), a global membership organization that provides resources to help Oracle data management solutions users enhance the benefits they receive from Oracle technology, today announced the addition of one of its Deep Dive sessions to its popular COLLABORATE 12 virtual conference offering- Plug-In to Vegas, sponsored by NetApp and Cisco.

The Deep Dive session, Avoiding Downtime through the Maximum Availability Architecture, is being held Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 8:30 am until Noon. It is one of several Deep Dive sessions being offered during COLLABORATE 12, happening April 22-26, 2012 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, that give attendees the opportunity to go in-depth into important Oracle technologies. It is also one of many virtual conference sessions being offered as part of “Plug-in to Vegas,” an IOUG exclusive offering that provides a means for organizations to bring entire database administrator (DBA) teams up to speed on key Oracle technology issues and build competencies without having to incur the travel and lodging expenses normally associated with live attendance at a conference.

“Deep Dive sessions offer some of the best learning opportunities COLLABORATE 12 has to offer,” said Michelle Malcher, IOUG Director of Education. “This particular session was carefully selected for its broad appeal, and it combines two of IOUG's most unique conference offerings in a single, powerful package. The great thing is that IOUG virtual conference participants can do more than listen. These fully-interactive sessions offer them the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the presenters and other participants, just like live attendees.”

Presenters for the Avoiding Downtime through the Maximum Availability Architecture Deep Dive are Larry Carpenter and Joseph Meeks of Oracle. The cost to participate in the full virtual event, which includes this session, is $299 for a group seat license, which allows unlimited employee participation from a single location. Full registration information can be found on the IOUG Virtual Conference website.

COLLABORATE 12 is a joint conference on Oracle technology presented by IOUG, OAUG (Oracle Applications User Group) and the Quest International User Group.
