(PRWEB) February 16, 2012

The Consumer Justice Foundation, a for-profit corporation whose team of professional consumer advocates follow the mission of alerting consumers to the dangers of certain medications by way of free online educational resources, hereby alerts the public of an upcoming hearing to be held regarding whether or not the multiple Propecia side effects lawsuits should be centralized into one large legal action.

Specifically, the United States Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has scheduled a hearing for March 29, 2012 in San Diego where the parties to these Propecia side effects lawsuits, including several plaintiffs from around the United States and the common defendant, Merck & Co., will provide oral arguments regarding whether or not these lawsuits should in effect be combined into one streamlined legal action.

These Propecia side effects lawsuits have been filed by men who were using Propecia in order to treat their symptoms of hair loss. These legal claims have been filed because men who were using Propecia have alleged that they have suffered from long-term erectile dysfunction and other sexual side effects as a result. These claims have been filed in several districts around the United States and the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation will decide whether or not to combine these claims.

If these claims are combined under the jurisdiction of the U.S. MDL, these Propecia side effects lawsuits will then proceed under one combined action in one courtroom and will be overseen by one federal judge in order to bring about a resolution to these individual claims all at once. To date, more than 50 individual Propecia side effects lawsuits have been filed by plaintiffs on an individual basis.
