The law firm of Hatch, Little & Bunn, LLP attorneys in Raleigh welcome returning lawyer James Oliver who served a year as Chief, Client Services in the Staff Judge Advocate Office of the XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg, NC

Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) February 16, 2012

Real estate and estate planning attorney James A. Oliver had already practiced in private law firms for 15 years, the last four with Hatch, Little & Bunn, LLP in Raleigh, North Carolina, when he was mobilized to Active Duty in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps. He was stationed for a year at Staff Judge Advocate Office at Fort Bragg, NC where his legal skills were put to good use, he says.

"Military families and soldiers have many of the same legal issues as civilians," Oliver said, " I spent quite a bit of time preparing wills and estate planning documents for soldiers. Helping the spouses of soldiers lost in Iraq and Afghanistan with probate was one of our more sensitive tasks."

While on active duty, Major Oliver served as Chief, Client Services for the XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg. In that role, he directly supervised the operations of a 19-person section that provides legal services to a population of 240,000 soldiers, dependents, and retirees.

The Client Services section he managed includes the Legal Assistance Office, Fort Bragg Claims Office, the Fort Bragg Naturalization Program, and the Fort Bragg Tax Center. He also represented dozens Gold Star Spouses providing extensive support to spouses of deceased service members and veterans.

"We are proud of James' military service and welcome him back to continue his role at Hatch, Little & Bunn, serving the real estate and estate planning needs of our clients," said the firm's bankruptcy lawyer in Raleigh Douglas Q. Wickham.
