DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Frontier Airlines said today that it will add new year-round, nonstop service between Orlando, Fla. (MCO) and Bloomington/Normal, Ill. (BMI). Additionally, the airline will increase its existing nonstop service between Orlando and Madison, Wis. (MSN) from seasonal to year-round and will upgrade the aircraft used on the route from a 99-seat Embraer 190 to a 138-seat Airbus 319. The Bloomington/Normal service, which will operate three days each week, begins May 25, 2012; the year-round, twice-weekly Madison service will launch May 27, 2012.

The news of the two new routes comes on the heels of an announcement yesterday by Frontier of new year-round, nonstop service between Orlando and both Allentown, Pa. (ABE) and Harrisburg, Pa. (MDT) beginning in May. Frontier also recently announced that it would begin service between Bloomington/Normal and Denver in May.

“Frontier already offers point-to-point service from Orlando, and we're excited to build on the success of that service by expanding to 10 the number of destinations we serve nonstop from Orlando International Airport – the city's preferred airport,” said David Siegel, president and chief executive officer of Frontier. “Travelers in both Bloomington/Normal and Madison can look forward to low-fare, nonstop, year-round service to and from Orlando beginning this May.”

Introductory fares begin at $90* each way for the Orlando-Bloomington/Normal service and $130* each way for the Orlando-Madison service. The intro fares, which include all taxes and fees, are available at FrontierAirlines.com through March 14, 2012, for travel through Sept. 9, 2012.

“The growth of Frontier Airlines' service from Orlando International Airport to markets such as Allentown, Harrisburg, Bloomington, Madison, Denver, Knoxville, Des Moines, Kansas City, Omaha and Milwaukee is welcomed news,” said Buddy Dyer, Mayor, City of Orlando. “This demonstrates their willingness to fill a void and provide quality service for leisure and business travelers to these significant markets.”

The new Orlando routes will operate on 138-seat Airbus 319 aircraft – featuring leather seats, five rows of STRETCH seating with an additional 5 to 7 inches of legroom, and 24 channels of DirecTV® with three channels of hit movies available at every seat.
