Emulex's John Alfieri Recognized as One of CRN's 2012 Channel Chiefs
Emulex Corporation (NYSE: ELX) today announced that John Alfieri, Emulex vice president, Americas channel sales, has been named one of CRN's 2012 Channel Chiefs. This prestigious list of the most influential and powerful leaders in the IT channel community recognizes those executives directly responsible for driving channel sales and growth within their organization, while evangelizing and defending the importance of the channel throughout the entire IT industry.
John Alfieri has been instrumental in leading the Emulex Connect Partner Program™, which was introduced in 2011. The Connect Partner Program was designed to better support Emulex's channel partners, regardless of their product focus, and includes Emulex Expert™ online technical and sales training certifications, bigger SPIFs, faster claims and higher profit margins.
“John's recognition as a CRN Channel Chief is really a testament not only to his leadership and the strength of our channel team, but to our partners who trust Emulex to provide them with the best converged networking solutions they can sell, along with the revenue opportunities, training and support they need to be successful,” said Jeff Benck, president and chief operating officer, Emulex. “Our diversification across the Fibre Channel and 10G Ethernet based network convergence markets means that our partners have a wealth of options to choose from when solving the bandwidth needs of today's highly virtualized data centers.”
The Emulex Connect Partner Program helps Emulex's channel partners and Value Added Resellers (VARs) maximize revenue and gross margins in the growing 10Gb Ethernet (10GbE)-based network convergence market and emerging markets such as Hadoop and Big Data. With the emergence of these technologies continuing to drive cloud adoption, along with bandwidth requirements for digital data growing rapidly, 10GbE solutions are required to keep data center performance at high levels. Alfieri led the creation of a separate sales team focused on driving the Emulex OneConnect® Universal Converged Network Adapters (UCNAs) into resellers that Emulex had not already been touching through its existing Emulex LightPulse® Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter (HBA) sales efforts. Alfieri also oversaw the successful launch of the third-generation Emulex OneConnect OCe11102 family of UCNAs into the channel. As a result, Emulex is no longer only recognized by storage professionals and OEMs, but by the networking community as well.
For the ninth consecutive year, Channel Chiefs were selected by the CRN editorial team based on channel experience, program innovations, channel-driven revenue, and public support for the importance of IT Channel Sales.
“The 2012 Channel Chiefs list recognizes vendor executives dedicated to driving channel programs in the IT marketplace,” said Kelley Damore, VP, Editorial Director, UBM Channel. “Our annual Channel Chiefs issue is a must-read for IT solution providers evaluating new vendors or looking to expand solution offerings. These are the people, the products and the programs that any savvy solution provider needs to know. We congratulate this year's Channel Chiefs for their stellar record of business innovation and applaud them for their continued dedication to the partner community.”
Selected by CRN's editorial staff, the 2012 Channel Chiefs list is featured in the February issue of CRN Magazine and will be featured online at www.crn.com.
