Earl E. Devaney Joins Reznick Government as Senior Advisor

Reznick Government, a division of top 20 national CPA firm Reznick Group, today announced that The Honorable Earl E. Devaney has joined the firm as a Senior Advisor. Devaney joins Reznick Government with 41 years of service at four federal agencies. Based on his extensive experience in the federal government, Devaney will assume an advisory role assisting Reznick Government's business expansion strategy.

Over 12 years as Department of the Interior's (DOI) Inspector General, Devaney has been a critical part of the federal government's efforts to investigate and prevent fraud of government funds. His reputation as an unwavering guardian of taxpayer dollars is unrivaled and in 2009 Devaney was chosen by President Obama to oversee the $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

About Devaney
Devaney began his career as a Massachusetts police officer before graduating from Franklin and Marshall College with a degree in government. Immediately following graduation, he started working as a special agent for the U.S. Secret Service. During his 21-year career there, he gained recognition as an expert on white-collar crime and received five U.S. Department of Treasury Special Achievement Awards. He ended his Secret Service career as the Special Agent in Charge of the Fraud Division.
After the Secret Service, Devaney served for eight years as the Director of Criminal Enforcement for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In 1998, President Clinton presented him with a Presidential Rank Award for his work in public service.
In 1999, President Clinton appointed Devaney as Inspector General of the Department of the Interior. During his tenure at DOI, he headed several major investigations, including those that led to the convictions of Washington lobbyist Jack Abramoff and Interior Deputy Secretary Steven Griles, as well as the two year investigation into the Minerals Management Service.
