FREDERICTON, New Brunswick--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Remsoft, a leading provider of asset lifecycle optimization solutions, today announced that it continues to see innovative companies turn to its technology and expertise to help optimize land assets, improve sustainability and become more efficient organizations.

Latvia is one of the most forested areas in the world, with more than 46 percent of the country being covered by forest. The nation's government looked to Remsoft and its partner Savcor Forest to help it optimize its operational harvest planning and how best to meet market, social, economic and sustainability objectives. Through Remsoft's analytics and optimization technology, Latvia will be able to lower costs and create a more efficient, effective way of operating, ultimately increasing profits.

North Carolina-based Forest Intelligence Group (FIG) has been able to help Timber Investment Management Organizations (TIMOs) determine the actual value of the land and better understand the risks and rewards associated with investing.

The Idaho Department of Lands chose Remsoft to be able to better plan its harvesting and land usage, making the sometimes conflicting goals of supply, sustainability, environmental stewardship and profitability all work together.

Continuing with efforts to support education and research initiatives that foster innovative approaches to planning, Remsoft has also added two new customers to its Educational Partners Program. This includes Michigan Technological University, a leader in technology, engineering and scientific degree programs. It has selected Remsoft in its teaching program and for research projects in forestry, carbon management and biomass for bioenergy.

Additionally, the University of Georgia/Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources has chosen Remsoft's optimization solution for the school's annual Forest Planning course to train its students on how to optimize land use in an efficient, sustainable manner.

Strengthening Remsoft's network, the company has also named its 2012 Consulting Partners, which include American Forest Management, Consultants forestiers DGR, Cortex Consultants, F4 TECH, Grow Solutions, Mason, Bruce & Girard, Pöyry, Sewall, Timberland Appraisal Inc., and Bernard Walker.

“Forestry organizations are embracing asset optimization to increase the sustainability and profitability of their resources,” said Doug Jones, VP of Forestry, Remsoft. “Remsoft's traction across forestry and other industries is a testament to the value that can be created simply from better management and planning.”
