Several volunteers from the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin provided a buffet-style dinner for the residents and staff members at the Ronald McDonald House of Durham on August 4th, 2011.

Several volunteers from the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin provided a buffet-style dinner for the residents and staff members at the Ronald McDonald House of Durham on August 4th, 2011.

The volunteers prepared a pig-picking style barbeque which consisted of half a pig, potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, bread and hushpuppies. The volunteers shopped, cooked and cleaned-up after the meal.

Ronald McDonald Houses around the world offer families a way to stay together when they have a sick child getting medical treatment in a nearby hospital. Houses are designed to provide a homelike atmosphere with meals, private bedrooms and playrooms, as well as counseling and support. The Ronald McDonald House of Durham has served more than 20,000 families from throughout the world since it opened its doors in 1980.

The Ronald McDonald House Charity holds a special place in the hearts of several members of the James Scott Farrin family who have used its services when their own children were ill.
