TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 13, 2010) - The time has come for Stewart Bacon, President and CEO of Canada Post to take a clear and unequivocal stand against antisemitic hatred and lies. Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC) says the planned appearance of Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) President Denis Lemelin at an upcoming anti-Israel rally in Montreal makes it appear as if Canada Post supports his participation in the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions conference.

"CUPW's participation in this anti-Jewish hatefest will associate virtually all 71,000 members of Canada Post with an antisemitic crusade to demonize and delegitimize the world's only Jewish state," said Avi Benlolo, Canadian human rights activist and President and CEO of FSWC. "It is imperative that Mr. Bacon issue a strong statement to the media and to the union membership distancing Canada Post from Mr. Lemelin's shameful assault on the legitimacy of Israel and the inalienable right of the Jewish people to their homeland," he added.
