Cellcom Israel Announces Dismissal of Purported Class Action

NETANYA, Israel, November 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cellcom Israel Ltd.(NYSE: CEL) (TASE: CEL) (hereinafter: the "Company"), announced today thedismissal of a purported class action filed against the Company in May 2009,in the District Court of Tel-Aviv-Jaffa, by two plaintiffs alleging to be theCompany's subscribers, in connection with allegations that the Companyunlawfully charged its subscribers for cellular internet "surfing packages"without obtaining their consent. The motion for certification as a classaction was dismissed without prejudice and the lawsuit was dismissed withprejudice, at the plaintiffs' request. Had the lawsuit been certified as aclass action, the total amount claimed from the Company was estimated by theplaintiffs to be approximately NIS 1.2 billion.
