OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 30, 2009) - The Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced the complete itinerary for the 2009 Royal Visit to Canada of The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.

The Royal Couple will be in Canada November 2-12, 2009. This program will see Their Royal Highnesses visit four provinces and 11 communities, where they will participate in as many as eight activities each day.

"This 11-day coast-to-coast visit is a celebration of Canadian innovation, community building, national pride, and presence on the world stage. Their Royal Highnesses will make stops in communities as small as Brigus in Newfoundland and Labrador and as large as Toronto and Vancouver," said Minister Moore. "The program provides Their Royal Highnesses an opportunity to demonstrate their deep affection for Canada and Canadians by rekindling many existing friendships and making many new ones. I know that many Canadians will respond in kind and are eagerly awaiting this Visit."

Highlights of the 11-day program include:

- Welcoming The Royal Couple to Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador at Mile One Centre in St. John's;

- Visiting Cupids in Newfoundland and Labrador in honour of the 400th anniversary of the first English settlement in Canada, which will be held in 2010;

"Their Royal Highnesses will share in the stories of courage and valour from members and veterans of the Canadian Forces. They will also meet military families who have lost loved ones, sharing private moments of reflection with them and providing public support by joining in Canadian military commemorations and celebrations."
