3/18/2010- Toyota Motor Corp. (NYSE: TM) asked Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS) unit ABC News for a public retraction and formal apology for an "irresponsible broadcast" of a report that suggested electronic problems in Toyota's could lead to unintended acceleration, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

In a letter to ABC News President David Westin, Toyota said that ABC created a shot of a Toyota Avalon sedan in order to "create the false and misleading impression with viewers of a dangerous and uncontrolled acceleration."

A spokesperson for ABC News said that the broadcaster received the letter and that their lawyers are reviewing it before they respond to the automaker.
