Zeus and WANdisco Partner to Deliver Subversion Clustering Solution

WANdisco, a leading provider of infrastructure software for replication, scalability and high availability, today announced that it has partnered with Zeus to offer its Subversion Clustering solution with Zeus’ industry leading load-balancing software.

This combination of WANdisco’s unique replication technology with Zeus’ intelligent load balancing capabilities enables Subversion to be deployed in an active-active cluster that delivers optimum performance, scalability and availability, with built-in continuous hot-backup. Subversion Clustering can be implemented standalone at a single location over a local area network (LAN), or in combination with WANdisco’s Subversion MultiSite to cluster servers across multiple locations over a wide area network (WAN). Failover is immediate and transparent and recovery is automatic. Downtime and data loss are completely eliminated. If servers go down, users won't notice and administrators won't have to do anything.

Key Features:

• Dynamically balances workload across a group of Subversion servers by taking each server’s load into account before routing user requests.
• All servers in a cluster are fully readable and writeable and continuously in sync.
• No single point of failure. There is no sharing of disk, memory, or CPU between servers.
• Meets recovery time objective (RTO) of zero; by providing immediate failover and automated recovery to insure business continuity.
• Servers can be taken offline for maintenance without interrupting user access for full 24-by-7 operation. When a server is brought back online, it resynchronizes automatically with the other servers in the cluster.
• Can be implemented standalone, or with WANdisco’s Subversion MultiSite to combine local clusters into an active-active WAN cluster.
• Supports agile development practices because a load-balanced, clustered Subversion system enables continuous builds without sacrificing performance or availability for users.
