PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

DCM, a venture capital firm based in Silicon Valley investing in early stage technology companies, announced today that it will participate in an investment alliance initiated by Intel Capital, Intel Corporation's global investment organization, called the Invest in America Alliance. DCM, as part of Invest in America Alliance, will commit approximately $200 million toward an aggregate amount of $3.5 billion over a two year investment horizon. The commitment will target key innovation and growth segments such as clean technology, information technology and bio technology.

The initiative was announced today by Intel CEO Paul Otellini at an event in Washington D.C. The $3.5 billion of capital will support U.S. investment in new growth-oriented industries, and DCM and 23 other venture capital firms joined to encourage the investment in and development of the next-generation of innovative technologies in the United States.

“DCM enthusiastically welcomes the establishment of this alliance and we fully support innovative technology investment that drives high-value job creation. The Alliance is an example of a positive outcome we had envisioned during my term last year as NVCA Chairman when the NVCA published the 4-Pillar Plan to catalyze the U.S. venture industry,” says Dixon Doll, Co-Founder and General Partner of DCM. “We believe the early signs of disruptions in social networking and mobile ecosystems, cloud computing and cleantech components already exist. Further investment in these sectors will only strengthen the U.S. economy and revitalize our capital markets.”
