HighMount Exploration & Production Names Jason Garner Chief Operating Officer

HighMount Exploration & Production today announced that Jason A. Garner has been named Chief Operating Officer, effective March 1, 2010. Jason is currently HighMount’s Vice President, Western Division.

“Jason has been instrumental in establishing HighMount as a first-class natural gas producer in the Sonora field since the company formed in 2007,” said Tim Parker, President and Chief Executive Officer. “This promotion reflects his many contributions to the success of HighMount. I am confident that Jason will continue to deliver positive results for our stakeholders, focusing on maximizing the value of our assets and strengthening the communities in which we do business.”

Jason holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from West Virginia University in Petroleum Engineering. Prior to becoming HighMount’s Western Division Vice President, Jason worked in various engineering, planning, and management positions for Dominion E&P in Richmond, Houston, and Oklahoma City.

Garner will assume the responsibilities of current COO, James D. Abercrombie. Jim will remain with the company through the end of March to ensure a smooth transition.
